This trick feels great and can easily be translated to an unhooked version. Make sure you've got your backrolls down before you start going for this.
Ride in at a comfortable pace
Edge upwind and push off the water with your back foot to initiate the backroll
As you leave the water, look over your back shoulder
Spot your landing and as your body comes around, prepare to bring only the bottom half of your body through.
Once your legs have made the rotation, pull your back hip around (letting go of your front hand helps this)
Land with your board going downwind, bending your knees to absorb impact
Ride away toeside as happy as larry
