This is a great feeling trick. Just check any sam light video, he's throwing these down all the time (with variations). Its a friendly trick too as you can learn it with minimal power and then start adding some flair when you gain confidence. Get out there!
Trick Steps
1
Come in riding fast with the kite at 11 or 1.
2
Edge against the kite as if you are throwing a raley as you are going to need the height.
3
Release your edge, and as you do so, look over your back shoulder and bring your front knee up to your chest. You'll need to get that knee up fairly early whilst learning so that you make the full rotation. Remain in the tucked position until you are nearing the whole 360 rotation.
4
Spot your landing and extend legs to slow down rotation. Classic mistake is to not finish the whole rotation (and nastily catch that heel edge)- avoid this by riding with pace and flinging yourself into the rotation by fully commiting to the tuck position.
5
Land with your board facing downwind, if you aren't near the full rotation it is possible to salvage the situation by landing to toeside.
6
You're probably going to land with lots of speed (as your forward momentum during the spin speeds you up). Ride downwind once youve landed and keep things under control. Easy!
