The S-Bend is a heelside raley, combined with a front rotation landing heelside. An S-Bend is a great progression move once you can land Raleys and hooked in frontrolls. Sometimes a good trick to learn before the S-Bend is an unhooked backroll as they can be easier and will help with the feeling of rotating and landing unhooked.
Make sure you ride in with speed to get enough height for the trick, the number one challenge people face when learning S-Bends is to complete the rotation. Follow the instructions above and you'll be stomping S-Bends and moving on to S-Bends to blind in no time!
Trick Steps
1
Ride downwind, unhook with your hands close to the center of the bar (overlapped if you can)
2
Engage your edge and throw a big Raley, getting horozontal as early as possible
3
As your raley approaches the apex, look over your back shoulder, keeping your body stretched out. This is where most people will accidently pull on their back hand, sending the kite to 12. This results in too much height and usually a big crash. Avoid this by keeping those hands cental and the pressure equal. Easier said than done, but preventable by overlapping your hands over the center of the bar.
4
Looking over your shoulder will initiate the rotation. Keep looking all of the way around and your body will follow. Its suprising how quickly you are able to do the 360!
5
Spot your landing and let your legs come back underneath you (gravity will help with this)
6
Land downwind and use the bar to help you balance on landing. Hook back in, do an epic bar spin (back hand down) and ride away. Play S-club-7 in the car on the way home.
