This is the gateway into the world of Wakestyle tricks. Landing blind is pretty un-natural, but when you've got it dialed this feels great. You should start learning these as soon as you can execute a powered unhooked Raley. Before you try these, get confortable riding blind. One key thing to remember is to try and do a 270 rotation so that you land with your board flying downwind. Common mistake is to not get far enough around, causing a heel edge catch.
When yo're learning this you'll find your arm going straight more often than not. This is fine aslong as you bend over at the waist, leaning away from the kite,to allow your arm to be straight.
Trick Steps
1
Ride in fast, kite slightly higher than 45
2
Go downwind, unhook with your hands as central on the bar as possible (maybe even overlapping the middle lines). This will help you keep that kite nice and steady
3
Carve that edge and pop a big raley, but get that rewind started by getting your front leg higher than your back as the board goes behind you.
4
Once you are fully horozontal, pull that bar into your front hip. Don't stretch out into the full Raley position though, keep your knees a little bent and your body tensed.
5
Let go of your back hand and look over your back shoulder
6
Bring your knees up to quicken the rotation and let your front hand go around your back
7
Keep looking all the way around to spot your landing, let your legs follow
8
Keep your weight over your toes by putting your chest in line with your toe edge. This will prevent any nasty edge catches
9
Land with the board going as far downwind as possible. A 270 rotation will work best!
10
Pass the bar once you've landed and ride away. Go listen to some Dre beats in the car because you are dangerously steezey.
